Looking at this hyperlinked page in the navigation bar under the heading of' 'beauty' we can clearly see the pages follow the same layout and colour scheme as the homepage straight away. This enforces continuity and honest that everything is as It seems and therefore forms a connection in which symbolises the connection desired by the company to create between themselves and the audience. The colour scheme consists of black, white and pink. The colours black and white create a contrast with two different connotations. The white enforces purity and innocence while the black is mysterious and dangerous. This forms a contrast in the colours. However both of these colours symbolise class and sophistication whilst the colour pink is usually associated with the female gender. This links to represent the primary audience. The masthead is displayed in the top left third of the page and in a large and bold text so that it stands out. It is in a white font so that it creates a contrast against the background colour. The background image is of a girl getting her makeup done and this links back to the category of the page of beauty. Many people believe the key to beauty is behind makeup and presenting yourself to look the best. This only links to very highly influenced factor in which young people tend to face, self confidence issues suggesting women wear makeup to hide her issues.

Rationale for my Magazine
When creating my products there were several things in which I had to take into consideration including the layout and language of the magazine in which will be my final piece. I had to keep in mind the target audience in order to make sure that I was appealing to them and they would therefore buy my products. There were 6 points in particular and these were:

These colours will also allow attention to be drawn up on the images in which I plan to place on my construction, especially the dress images. Throughout my magazine I will also like to use simple yet effective fonts that will stand out, be easy to read and blend well with my genre and my target audience. I will try to stay away from handwritten fonts as I feel they are hard to read and understand. When considering language and register I wanted to stay away from a very formal communication with my audience as I feel it would create a large social distance between me and the readers. Alternatively I do not wish to take an informal tone of being too colloquial. Being in the middle would engage the target audience and also match the genre. I feel this would be on a level with my target audience while also making them feel a lot older an more mature and responsible. When thinking of the mise en scene I had to loo at features such as lighting and the props. I wish to use a range of lighting in order to show different sides to the dresses, hair etc. The costumes in which I plan to use all feature the different types of prom dresses in a range of styles and colours in order to appeal to a wider target audience. The makeup on each model will vary depending on the dress and hair in which she has. For example a simple, light pink dress will have a neutral eye and simple makeup with a soft curled pin up. However a bold dress will have a more daring lip or bolder eyes. I don't feel that I would use props in my images in order for the focus to be solely on the outfit that the model is wearing.

When laying out my magazine I wanted to create something that challenged the generic conventions of a magazine wile also adding my own touch to represent the target audience. On the front cover of my magazine I will place my dominant image underneath my masthead and my issue number and price blow. This will be framed by my sell lines and show the dominance. Down the left side of the page I will place my cover lines which are evenly spread and will be in several fonts in order to attract my target audience by adding a range and character to my page. My main cover lines will be a little more central than the others while also not following the evenly spaced gaps. This will be about the model from the dominant image and the article in which she is involved in. The barcode is then located in the bottom right corner. The mise en scene of this piece will vary as I want to take professional photos with a blurred background. However there are other images in which i wish to remove the background in order to put the focus on the model and the dresses, hair and makeup represented. I don't think props will be used as I want the focus to be on the models.
The content space of my magazine will also be evenly spaced to make it uncluttered and easy to read for my target audience.

At the top left side of the page I will place the 'contents' logo and placed above this, a tiny replicate of my masthead logo will be placed on the top to represent the magazine. Once again below this will be the issue number and website as this was a generic feature of a magazine in which I plan to follow. An image of my front cover will be placed on a slanted angle to tie everything together. On the bottom left side of the page I will place my editors note which will detail my favourite article in the magazine and a brief couple of sentences about it. The main cover line will be featured in the top right corner of the page through the use of a image which is shown on the right. This will be the sane model as my front cover but a different image. Below this and taking up the rest of the bag will be features in which are in the magazine. These will be in a three column structure.
Finally is my double page spread in which the article title which will be spread across the top of the page. In a scattered array I will place images linked to the article I will be writing about. Fitted around thee images will be the article itself.I will place a kicker in order to engage the audience into the page. Finally the article wouldn't be wrote in a large chunk as I feel this would disengage the audience and therefore will break it up with paragraphs. The images I will use on this piece will also help break up the text. For example the two pictures below are images in which could incorporate regional businesses to make the magazine a lot more personal. This will also help to adverse the companies and allow there name to be branched out.

UPDATE:
When creating my product I decided to change the layout of my double page spread. I decided to create and article and and a advert in order to use it as an opportunity in order to add an element of regionality to my magazine. I wanted to include an advert in order to advertise a local business. Due to this I therefore had to create a new flat plan to coincide with this. On the left hand side of the page I decided to include a large dominant image of what the business represents with their business name overlapping on the bottom right. under this image I will place the website or contact information in order for them to be reached if appropriate. finally the page number will be present as it is a generic feature of a magazine. on the right side of the page, the top will feature the masthead of the article with the text flowing underneath. The article will be about Leoni's prom experience.

- composition/framing
When creating my magazine I will use the colour scheme of pinks, purples and blues whilst contrasting it with black and grey in order to neutralize the course. Despite these colours being feminine and therefore appealing to my target audience, however I feel the dark colours will keep it sophisticated and mature.

These colours will also allow attention to be drawn up on the images in which I plan to place on my construction, especially the dress images. Evaluation - question 3
What have you learned from getting audience feedback?
Receiving audience feedback is an essential part in the post production stage pf any form of media as this allows you to see what the target audience would like to see and what you could possible change in order to suit their wants and needs. Considering this I knew it was imperative to gain audience feedback for my own media productions.
To maximize the appropriateness of my feedback I realized that it would be beneficial for me to establish my target audience and gain feedback from them as these will be the targeted individuals from my prom magazine. In order to do this I carried out various target audience research in a range of forms, form
A target audience profile:
An interview:

and others such as an initial summary and moldboard (in which are all previously posted on my blog). In order to show how I gained my audience feedback and how I used it, I created a prezi:
Evaluation - question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary task?
This is one of the most essential pieces of text as this is how the audience will remember the magazine and what they will use to speak of it. Therefore this text is featured boldly throughout at the top of the website, on the cover of the magazine and boldly on the billboard. I used a range of fonts throughout my products as this would be more appealing to my target audience giving them more to see and allowing different piece of text to stand out to the audience while adding character In opposition to this I did use some basic fonts I order to contrast with the others as the text still needs to be simple to read for example with the article itself. I also tried to keep in my mind a consistent colour scheme which would link to my media texts. The original colour scheme is blue, pink, purple and black/grey in which I felt I successfully stuck to throughout the creation of my products In order to keep the continuity.
As previously stated on my blog with was to keep it fun for the target audience but also sophisticated and mature. This allows all the media texts to be linked and connected. I also believe this chosen colour palette will be effective as it relates to the target audience and their likes/interest or their personality and gender. Despite this being a heavily female orientated magazine I feel the use of blue, black and grey with also maybe attract a Male audience whom may need advice for their girlfriend or for planning in general. I further believe the layout of my products do well to make them effective. The images used on both my website and magazine follow a collage effect to a certain extent as I would be able to fit in ore information in such a small space. As a teenager they have busy and compact lives which will be represented on the page but not to the extent it looks overcrowded. This shows me challenging conventions to enable my magazines of the prom genre as they used a more structured look on certain page. I only didn't use use this layout on the billboard as it would not be practice as the target audience would not be able to take that much in while passing the product. I felt it had to be simple and effective and only portray the important information. It also allows it to stand out and dramatically make an impact. When rating all of my products I wanted the audience to know that as well as the magazine, the website is also an important part of the "prom101" community with the audience and therefore I chose to feature the websites address on all of my products. This will also appeal to my target audience as the current generation is very technologic and orientates their life around it. Therefore having a website with extra prom information on will be appealing to them. I also used similar articles and features on both my magazine and website such as a prom experience. This links my products together knowing the audience will be interested in these articles and therefore letting them know that there will be more like this online. This also allows them to create a deeper connection with the company. This will also be effective in the magazines success as with this brings customer loyalty and good word of mouth, with constant updates that prom 101 still exists. To conclude I am happy that my final product packaging is effective as althogh my products have differences, they still have many conventions and features which are either very similar or the same. For instance with the changes in some of the text used, however there is still the prom 101 title which also attracts acts sits logo is printed on all the media products I produced so they will not be confused for competators. The images are all of great quality and a range of models added character to my products. This shows the target audience that the media products can be diverse and consists of a lot of different looks and trends which will suit all of my target audience needs and what they prefer to be a successful publication.
Peer feedback - front cover

Model confirmation
Model contract
Here is a contract signed by one of my models in order to confirm they will be my model. I have previously informed her vi text of the times and dates ands had agreed it was fine. I did this contract so I had significant proof she was my model. I decided to create to contracts as I had two distinct ideas of how I was going to take my photos.

Screen shots of my magazine double page spread progress
When creating my double page spread I decided to include an advert as well as an article. I firstly started by placing in my main images. I decided I wanted my article picture in black and white. However this later changed when I placed on my smaller image as I felt this was better suited on my page in black and white and my main image in colour. for my article the main image was left in colour. I then placed the logo Robyn created her self for her business in order to add her own identity. The website and page number were then placed onto this page. Moving on from this I placed my masthead for my article and then added in the text that partnered with the article. As you can see from the screenshots of progress I did change the image colours at the end. Screen shots of my magazine contents page progress
These screens shots show the progress of my content page creation. Firstly I began this page by creating a pink background and adding 4 light grey boxes to add a structure of where i will place my features anomy editors not. This splits up the page and adds another dimension of colour in order to attract my target audience. Thirdly I created my initial masthead on my magazine in order to gather placing. I then added a screen shot of my from cover. This was a feature in which I wanted to replicate as I found it in several magazines that also aim to the same target audience the same as mine. Underneath this I produced my editors note that was a further feature I wanted to replicate. Following on from this I added the features that would be focused in my magazine swell as the page number. I used a white font in that was clear to read but that also stood out against the grey background of box that I had previously chosen. I added a signature for my editors note in order to add a personal touch to my target audience. In addition to this I inserted the rest of my masthead including the issue number and other vital information in order to keep continuity. i placed an image of my model on the contents page as she is the main article. This was a black and white sillouhette image that I felt stood out due to the previous use of bright colours. It also stands out on the page to the target audience. Finally I added pointers in order to let my target audience know wha the mage represented and where to find the article.
