Website rationales

when laying out my magazine I want to create a fun and vibrant piece that would appeal to my target audience. Across the top of the page I will place my masthead in order for other people to know and recognize the brand. On the other side of the page I will place the social media links in order for the audience to know they have scale media and could find them. The smaller boxes below would be linked to certain pages i.e. makeup, hair, dresses and advice. I feel these would make the website a to more personal to the target audience. the larger boxes bellow will feature images advertising the certain sections in order to intrigue my target audience.

This page will be were the makeup section is located. The top two boxes will contain the prom101 masthead along will the page names. Underneath this I will place the title of the page in order to allow the audience to know what they are reading. Furthermore below this I will place the text accompanying this article below. The rest of the page will contain images and a website link in order for the audience to know what the artist is capable off and the styles in which she cold replicate on them if asked. The thin line at the bottom is a page breaker which the start of the previous article will be placed as the audience scroll down.

On this page the dresses will be located. The box below this would contain the masthead for the page title to let the audience know what they are reading. The further box below this would contain text about the dresses for the audience. The rest of the space on the page will be images connecting with the title.

Billboard rationale

When laying out my billboard I will take inspiration from the one to  the left. I feel this is proportionally set out. Despite it being very simplistic it portrays all the valuable information needed for the target audience. For example the brand and an idea of what they are selling. The colour scheme in which I aim to achieve of pinks, purples and blues will be used throughout in order to keep the continuity from my magazine and website.
The billboard itself will feature only one image of a group of girls wearing their prom dress. I am undecided whether to use this image in colour or black and white. i wth place the same of my brand on the billboard while also including a regional feature. If I use a black and white and white image I will use a coloured background.

Magazine recreation

The first image featuring Demi Lovato is the recreation I made of a front cover of a Prom magazine. I have also attached the original in which I used to copy for which is the second image featuring Sarah Hyland.This allowed me to understand which features had to be present on the front cover of a prom magazine. it also gave me an opportunity to decide which features that I would like to keep or challenge when creating my own final product. This helped as it allowed me to see the generic conventions of a magazine and how certain magazines challenge or copy these features. I also got to know the layout in order to gather more insight. Despite knowing that photoshop would be the main software I used I wanted to see if this could be created on something else and therefore I used powerpoint and the tools available. This Is why I felt more accomplished with this recreation as it was not a generic way of creating a product like this. Despite not being identical I feel it is very similar to the Sarah Hyland edition of 'teen prom'. However I did choose to use a lighter background in order for my subheadings to be noticed a lot more clearly to the target audience.

Billboard recreation

 

The first image is the recreation I completed of the other image that was in the form of a banner. I went on the internet to find some images of the dressed from Prom girls (a prom website) and the font from the website 'cool text'. I then used a grey and white gradient background from powerpoint. I feel these do look quite similar but have slight differences that make them unique. This helped a sit allowed me to gather the layout of a billboard when creating my final product. It also allowed me to see the particular conventions certain genres follow in order for me to copy or challenge.

I learned that a billboard has limited information and needs too, at a glance, be informative and appeal to the target audience. - quickly striking images

Dress photos from shoot

 
Here are the dress images that I collected for my coursework. They cover a range of locations and people that use different styles in order to appeal to my target audience. My favourite images are the ones in which my models did not expect such as when they are laughing as it adds a lot more character to my the piece and will seem fun to my audience.

Makeup photos from shoot

 These are the images in which I gathered for the makeup section of my product. I gathered these photo from a friend as she runs a makeup studio from home in her spare time after college. Several images follow  the correct mise en scene however some can be slightly altered. there are some images however that I will have to discard. My favourite image is of Robyn doing her clients makeup as I think this clearly represents her business.

 These are the nail image that I collected to become a part of my final product. This is from my aunties business which I thought by including would tie in a regional aspect. The mise en scene of all these images are correct as she also post the images online to give her clients an insight as towhead she can achieve. I gathered a range o styles in order o alternate my target audience as not everyone does not have the same style. 

Hair photos from shoot

 These are the images I collected of hair styles that I thought of including in the creation of my products. After collecting these photos I trellised that certain images were more suitable than others. For example I feel the back and white image is suitable as you cannot see a background and therefore has the correct mite en scene however this was not the case in the bottom left image as the rise en scene was wring and therefore I would then have to do a lot of editing to correct this.
